Welcome to the Dhahran Visa Unit

The U.S. Consulate General in Dhahran provides Non-Immigrant Visa services to Saudi Arabian citizens and third-country nationals residing in Saudi Arabia. All Saudi citizens and most other nationalities require Non-Immigrant Visas to visit, work, or study in the United States. The type of visa required will depend on the purpose of your travel. Appointments are required for all visa interviews.

The Consulate also provides some limited services related to immigrant visas and legal permanent residents.

For questions related to visa and consular issues at U.S. Consulate General Dhahran, please contact us.

Hours:  Visa services are available Sunday to Thursday (excluding holidays), and by appointment only.

Our Locations

The Consulate is located between King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and King Abdulaziz Airbase.

The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh provides non-immigrant visa services in the Central region of Saudi Arabia, and the U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah serves the Western region.

We hope to see you soon and wish you an enjoyable stay in the United States!

Notice

  • We have made significant progress and issued most of the delayed visas worldwide. We are working to bring our systems back to full operational capacity.

We continue to prioritize immigrant visas, adoption cases, and emergency nonimmigrant visa cases. We are printing visas for these cases with very few delays.

We are aware of a small number of visa cases still in process because of system performance issues. We are working diligently to clear those cases.

Visa applicants are advised to expect delays of up to one week in addition to normal processing times. Please take this into consideration when making travel plans.

Please check with the embassy or consulate where you will apply for additional information.

Please see our FAQs for further information.
