Green Speakers, David Eisenberg and Brad Lancaster, Visit the Eastern Province
On April 19 – 20, Dr. David Eisenberg, an expert on green building materials, and Dr. Brad Lancaster, an expert on water harvesting and water management, visited Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The speakers visited Al Ahsa Irrigation and Drainage Authority (IDA) where they were briefed on traditional and modern ways of water conservation and recycling, and visited water canals, water recycling basins, and pumping stations. Eisenberg and Lancaster engaged with students and faculty from King Faisal University and King Fahd University and with members of the Saudi Council of Engineers. There was a great deal of enthusiasm and eagerness from our Saudi contacts to exchange ideas with Eisenberg and Lancaster on green buildings and water conservation, respectively.
